This program provides the knowledge and skills for entry level vertical mobility and rescue in a construction context.  The program is aimed at participants who are new to a rescue team or require up-skilling on the core knowledge and skills associated with vertical mobility and rescue. This includes practical scenarios and instruction in Safety and Hazard Identification, Site and Operational PPE and Systems Equipment, Introduction to Knots, Bends & Hitches, Belays and Backups, knowledge and use of anchors, edge safety, pulley systems and mechanical advantage. Participants also practically prepare and respond to a Vertical Rescue in a Jump Form, as well as conduct patient packaging and stretcher rigging in a jump form.

The program is aligned to meet the following unit of competencies:

  • PUAEME001B Provide emergency care

  • PUASAR022A Participate in a rescue operation

Note: As the program is conducted in a working at heights context, participants are required to have current Working at Heights qualifications.
