Vertical rescue requires operators to correctly identify and use suitable access and recovery equipment combined with protocols to provide emergency response options in the case of an accident at heights or depths.
Participants will be required to operate independently and as part of a team to complete the successful recovery of casualties from heights or depths.

Supervision Ratio: 1:6
The program is aligned to meet the following unit of competencies:
PUASAR032A Undertake vertical rescue
PUASAR022A Participate in a rescue operation
HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support
As a pre-requisite for the program participants are required to hold current first aid qualifications.
Occupational first aid qualifications desirable however not essential.
